Louis Pasteur was born in France in 1822. He went to university in Paris in 1844. In 1848 he became a professor. He had his first daughter, Jeanne, in 1850. In 1885 his work made him famous. 

Albert Edelfelt was born in Finland in 1854. He went to Paris in 1874. In 1885, he met Louis Pasteur and painted Louis Pasteur. In 1886, he won a prize for his painting.
